Chatpat Kanda Lasun Masala (Mumbai-Style Vada Pav)

A symphony of spiced potato fritters nestled in a bun.

Ingredients:


  • 4 Pavs (soft bread rolls).
  • 4 nos. of Potato Patties (Aloo Vada).
  • Green Chutney.
  • 2 tsp Swaaditi Chatpat Kanda Lasun Masala.
  • 1/2 tsp Swaaditi Spicy-Laal Chilli Powder.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 tsp Oil.
  • Butter (for toasting).

Instructions:


  1. Slice the Pav in the middle without cutting all the way through.
  2. Spread green chutney and Swaaditi Chatpat Kanda Lasun Masala inside the pav.
  3. Place a hot Aloo Vada inside each pav.
  4. Sprinkle some Swaaditi Spicy-Laal Chilli Powder and salt on the vada.
  5. Heat a little oil in a pan or on a tava.
  6. Place the pav with the vada on the tava and toast until they turn crispy and golden brown.
  7. Optionally, you can add a little butter on the tava for added flavour.
  8. Serve hot with extra chutney, if desired.
